Mediation

What is “mediation”?

Mediation is a form of assisted negotiation which helps two or more people come to mutually beneficial agreements. Usually a short-term, structured and specific process, mediation is a goal-oriented experience, guided by a neutral third-party (the mediator) in difficulties such as divorce, disagreements between family members, friends and even work groups.  Mediation is often used to help people develop parenting plans which look out for the best interest of the child(ren).  Sometimes mediation may be used in place of marriage counseling for specific areas of non-agreement which is disrupting trust and connection between two people who wish to keep their marriage together.
